Hammertime!

You don’t need to understand the language to get what this commercial is about. I think it’s about time travel. There’s this one shot I swear is taken right from Timecop.

This PSA is speaking out against drunk driving in a graphic way. The spot is well done except for the shot of the people being hit with the wrecking ball, it’s about as phony as a presidential debate. Don’t steal that joke from me Leno it’s mine, I thought of it!

Does anyone remember that movie Scanners

Normally, putting a screeching child in a TV commercial would be a horrible idea, like putting a screeching kid on Santa’s lap, or putting a screeching kid in a seat at the movie theater in an R-rated movie. But in this case the screeching kid was placed in an ad for condoms, which both advertises condoms and vasectomies. If you are prone to migraines I don’t recommend watching this spot.

This is why Doom 2 added the double barrel shotgun

This fun commercial is for a new LCD TV ‘Bravia’, put out by Sony of Europe. I like the concept, it is sort of a spoof of stop motion animation…unless they spent the last few years in development on this commercial and actually did all of this by hand. That kind of feat seems like it would rival the first moon landing in coordinated effort and pure technical grit.

This spot did much better than a similar idea I had that just involved releasing a lot of confused live bunnies in the middle of a busy downtown area. I am still on the run from the SPCAA.

Once again my head is taped to the floor
and a chair leg is on my teeth

This foreign commercial is not for the faint of heart. The translation calls this an ad for “Spratz Biscuits”, though that name brand may be an invention of the translator.

What needs no translation is your cue to cringe when you understand what is about to happen to the man taped to the floor with the chair leg propped up onto his tooth. But really, where did you think those sound effects came from? Everyday people are in Foley studios getting shot, falling onto concrete, and getting eaten by giant sharks just so the viewing audience will have a full, rich, and believable audio experience.

Fed Ex Super Bowl CONTROVERSY!

Pictured above: Offending Ad

awfcom89: there have been a lot of purported “controversies” over the Super Bowl ads this year.

rosco-9000: you mean snickers has men kissing

awfcom89: right, and the countless other controversies

rosco-9000: like what

awfcom89: well anna nicole smith died

rosco-9000: that wasn’t really related to the super bowl ads

awfcom89: or WAS it? (conspiracy!!)

rosco-9000: :O omg!

awfcom89: yeah, think about it. anyway i thought we could help out fedEx today by fabricating some controversy around their “moon-base ad”, which would lead to more publicity of the ad, which, scientifically, leads to more people shipping items to the moon via Federal Express 14-Day Guanranteed Moon Delivery

(Oh there is more…)
