At the request of a commenteer, I am reporting on this report via Marketing y Medios which claims a Texas Ford dealership advertised air conditioned seats under the email heading ‘Are you Tired of Wet Backs’?

MyM writes: ‘The e-mail advertisement was sent Sept. 26 to customers, including members of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’. Whoops! Only whites were probably meant to see this.

MyM also says: ‘A company investigation found the dealership’s general sales manager produced the ad and the employee has been fired as a result, Winot said. He declined to disclose the manager’s name.’ He was probably tired of working anyway, and can now pursue racism on a freelance basis.

Here’s a great promo for FX’s The X Show which is bound to be confusing if seen while drifting off to sleep in front of the TV.

I have nothing else to say about this so I’ll just list as many funny names as I can think of. Dirk Bigthrust. Knuckles Fightman. Curls Barbell. Wide Chokekill. Trip Headkick. Sprint Fencejump. Mitt Romney.

What you are about to see will explode…metaphorically

With Blackwater in the news, this industrial video for the company and their services is really more of a curiosity than a bad advertisement. Aside from some wonky transitions, it’s par for the course for most industrial videos.

The matter-of-fact presentation of the killing training is a little humorous, but more likely than not this will make people wish they could go through the training they show off. And don’t miss the shot of the pitcher of iced tea at 5:10 in the video. That sold me, I’m suiting up and going tomorrow.

Does anyone remember that movie Scanners

Normally, putting a screeching child in a TV commercial would be a horrible idea, like putting a screeching kid on Santa’s lap, or putting a screeching kid in a seat at the movie theater in an R-rated movie. But in this case the screeching kid was placed in an ad for condoms, which both advertises condoms and vasectomies. If you are prone to migraines I don’t recommend watching this spot.

Peter Griffin and his buddies prepare for..
Oh wait what show is this again

This promo for the new Futurama DVD video, Bender’s Big Score, is exciting for Futurama fans, myself included. Pound for pound the four seasons of Futurama that aired were far superior when compared to the whole body of work of say, the Simpsons, whose first season could be described as unwatchable by cranky detractors. Not me though, I wouldn’t describe that season thusly.

Some fans have quaked that they hope Futurama isn’t ‘pulling a Family Guy’, which released a disappointing straight-to-DVD movie prior to its resurgence. I doubt this will be the case since this first movie is going to become the first four episodes of season five. Three more movies are planned to follow in similar fashion, with some retooling to make them work as stand-alone episodes. More information can be found here.

While it’s disappointing that the show will only make it back on the air as far as Comedy Central, and not Fox, it does raise the possibility of the episodes becoming much more free with their content. Does Comedy Central even have a standards department?
