No caps plz

This commercial, while only five-seconds in length, manages to encompass every modern element of email spam advertising in video form. It’s the television equivalent of talking in all caps, and using a random-text generator to write your copy, to hopefully get through spam filters.

Maybe this ad was made by a former spammer, who is used to having to use random text to get through filters, and doesn’t yet know that there is no such thing as spam filters for broadcast and cable television.

Topped-out audio is one of the most annoying things to send out into people’s homes, and it’s normally not done intentionally. This combination of bullhorn with lack of creativity, and an all around ‘loud must be good’ approach, forms an abrasive amalgam of every annoying feature of advertising.
